Boston University’s Psi Delta Chapter Embraces The Season With A Trip To Historic Salem

In the midst of the fall semester, the brothers of the Psi Delta Chapter at Boston University look forward to one of their most anticipated traditions: the annual chapter trip to Salem, Massachusetts. This year, over twenty brothers joined in on the adventure, taking a well-earned break from their busy engineering schedules to enjoy a day of camaraderie, exploration, and Halloween spirit.

Known as the “Witch City,” Salem is renowned for its rich history and vibrant culture, which is deeply rooted in the infamous 1692 witch trials. Today, the city transforms into a lively hub of seasonal festivities every October, filled with haunted houses, costumed visitors, and spooky attractions that draw people from all over New England. For Psi Delta, this trip offered not only a chance to experience the town’s history firsthand but also to strengthen the chapter’s bonds outside the classroom and campus.

Brothers spent the day wandering through the cobblestone streets, exploring the Salem Witch Museum, and sampling local treats from pop-up vendors. A highlight of the trip was a thrilling visit to one of Salem’s haunted houses, where laughter and screams alike echoed through the halls. Whether it was navigating dark passageways or taking group photos in front of historic landmarks, the experience captured the perfect blend of teamwork and fun that defines Theta Tau’s spirit.

As the sun set over Salem Harbor and the glow of jack-o’-lanterns illuminated the streets, the trip served as a memorable reminder of the importance of brotherhood beyond academics. Brothers shared laughs, challenged each other through the haunted house, and created lasting memories that will be talked about long after the fall semester ends. The outing also highlighted the value of taking a pause from rigorous coursework to enjoy the unique culture and history of a city like Salem. For the Psi Delta Chapter, this annual event has become more than just a fall tradition—it’s a celebration of friendship, shared experiences, and the unique spirit that binds their fraternity together year after year. The trip not only strengthens connections between brothers but also encourages them to embrace new experiences, explore historical communities, and make the most of their time at Boston University, both inside and outside the classroom.
