Jean-Marc Cassier was initiated into Psi Gamma Chapter at Virginia Tech in January 2017. He subsequently graduated with his B.S. in Computer Science in 2019 and returned to his hometown of Richmond, VA to start his professional career as a software engineer at Capital One. During that time, he was part of the Technology Development Program (TDP) for recent graduates, served on the TDP Council from 2020-2021 leading initiatives to create opportunities for his peers to connect during remote work policies, and began work on his Master of Human Computer Interaction from Iowa State University. After completing his MHCI in 2023, he shifted from the private sector to the public sector to put that degree to use as a software engineer and user experience specialist for NAVSEA under the Department of the Navy. He recently returned to Capital One as a senior software engineer working on their agent servicing platform.

Jean-Marc started his volunteer journey on the Volunteer Committee a few months after graduation in early 2020. From there, he was appointed Atlantic Regional Director in October 2020, in which he served for 3 years. He decided to run for Executive Council at the 2023 National Convention, and was elected Council Delegate. Following his first term, he was elected to Grand Outer Guard in 2025. He also previously served as interim Mid-Atlantic RD during Fall 2021 and has been a member of The Gear Editorial, DEI, Heath and Safety, and Convention Committees.

Outside of his day job and Theta Tau volunteering, Jean-Marc enjoys spending time with friends around the city of Richmond, hanging with his home, and practicing the cello.
