PHILADELPHIA – The Theta Tau Fraternity is pleased to announce a staffing change within the Central Office.

After three and a half years on the staff, Sunny Han (they/them) will be leaving for a new opportunity at the end of this week.  Sunny joined the staff in February 2020 as Programming and Communications Coordinator before being promoted to the role of Director of Programs.

“When I was hired four years ago,” said Executive Director Jim Gaffney, “the Executive Council tasked me with building a staff for the Fraternity.  I’ve been doing this long enough to understand that, being in the employ of a mission-driven organization isn’t work, it’s service.  The way Sunny has conducted themself these past years is proof-positive that they understand that, too – and they have been of great service to Theta Tau.  I wish them luck in their future endeavors.

Sunny’s last day will be September 22.

Effective on September 25, 2023, the role of Director of Programs will be filled by Emilee Danielson Burke.

Emilee spent seven years on the staff of the Theta Xi Fraternity, most recently as Director of Standards and Accountability, and previously as Director of Chapter Services.  Prior to her work at Theta Xi, Emilee spent 10 years as Associate Dean of Students and Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Shippensburg University.

Emilee has published numerous articles in the higher education space and presented/facilitated in a number of forums, including several presentations at the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors annual meeting.  As a volunteer, she has advised chapters of the Delta Zeta Sorority, the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and Theta Xi, and has facilitated the Ladder of Risk program.

Emilee holds a a BS/BA in Communications and History and a masters degree in Education from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, where she joined the Delta Zeta Sorority.  She lives in Erie, Pennsylvania with her husband, Tom.

“I’ve known Emilee for years, and I’m thrilled that she’s joining our team,” said Gaffney.  “The breadth and depth of her experience will be invaluable to Theta Tau, especially as we reboot our Leadership Academy program.”
