Jean-Marc Cassier is an alumnus of Psi Gamma Chapter at Virginia Tech, where he graduated with a degree in Computer Science in 2019. He then earned a Master of Human Computer Interaction from Iowa State University in 2023. Upon graduation from undergrad, Jean-Marc started his volunteer journey on the Volunteer Committee in 2020. He was subsequently appointed Atlantic Regional Director in October 2020, which he served in until joining the Executive Council following the 2023 National Convention. He also concurrently served as interim Mid-Atlantic RD during Fall 2021 and has been a member of The Gear Editorial, Heath and Safety, and Convention Committees.

Jean-Marc returned to his hometown of Richmond, VA following undergrad to start his professional career as a software engineer at Capital One. During his time at Capital One, he was part of the Technology Development Program (TDP) for recent graduates and served on the TDP Council from 2020-2021 leading initiatives to create opportunities for his peers to connect during remote work policies. At the end of 2023, he shifted from the private sector to the public sector working for the U.S. Navy as a software engineer focusing on user experience design and full stack development. Outside of work and Theta Tau, Jean-Marc continues to practice the cello and spend time with friends around the city of Richmond.
