ATLANTA – February 4, 2024 — The Executive Council is pleased to recognize two volunteers whose work has been integral to the success of the Fraternity.

Brother Curtis Barger (Kappa Gamma, 2014) was recognized with a Meritorious Service Commendation for having rendered service to the Fraternity in his capacity as trustee for the Upsilon Chapter at the University of Arkansas. Brother Barger’s work was instrumental in the continued success of that chapter. His term of service ended in January 2024.

Brother Vincent Chao (Sigma Delta, 2017) was recognized with a Commendation for having rendered service to the Fraternity in his capacity as Southwest Regional Directors, a position he has held since 2018.

Grand Regent Stuart Kardian (Kappa Gamma, 2006) presents a Commendation to Southwest Regional Director Vincent Chao (Sigma Delta, 2017) at the National Officer’s Meeting in Atlanta on February 4, 2024.

“Both of these brothers should be held up as examples for all members of Theta Tau,” said Grand Regent Stuart Kardian (Kappa Gamma, 2006). “You need only look at the success of the chapters in their care to understand the difference that an excellent volunteer can make.”

Regional Director Chao was presented with his award at the recent National Officer’s Meeting in Atlanta. As trustees generally do not travel to in-person events, Brother Barger will be recognized at the next national event to which he travels.

Major awards are given to student and alumni members for rendering significant service to the Fraternity. To learn more about our awards program as well as past honorees, visit thetatau.org/about/award-winners.
