The following stories were submitted by various Theta Tau chapters; they showcase some of the engaging brotherhood events our members hosted last winter.
Upsilon Epsilon Takes On Tahoe
by Joshua Beltran, Santa Clara University (Upsilon Epsilon, ’27)
Our chapter took a much-needed getaway to Lake Tahoe. Surrounded by towering pines and beautiful mountains, Upsilon Epsilon spent our days hiking winding trails, spotting wildlife like chipmunks and deer, and taking in the breathtaking views of the lake. Besides the adventures into the wild, the trip was an excellent opportunity to bond. People spent their night sharing stories, cooking meals, and deepening the friendships that bound Theta Tau together. It was a weekend full of laughter, fresh air, and excitement.

Winter Brotherhood Retreat Fosters Unity And Connection
By Katina Nguyen, University of Washington (Theta Beta, ‘25)
This winter, our chapter experienced an unforgettable moment of unity and personal growth during our Brotherhood Retreat. Over 45 brothers gathered in Lake Bay, Washington for a weekend of fun, games, and meaningful conversations that not only strengthened old friendships but also forged new ones across the fraternity.
Held at a peaceful property on the water, this retreat provided an opportunity for brothers to break away from their regular routines and focus solely on building stronger connections with one another. From competitive pickleball matches to fun, light-hearted games, this retreat was packed with activities that allowed everyone to engage in friendly competition. These games sought to emphasize the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and supporting one another through challenges.
However, the true magic of the retreat happened during the moments of quiet reflection and deep conversations. Brothers who had never spoken to each other before found themselves engaged in meaningful discussions. These heartfelt talks led to powerful connections, with many brothers expressing a deeper understanding of each other’s backgrounds, goals, and values.
As the weekend unfolded, the bonds between brothers grew stronger, creating a lasting sense of camaraderie and trust. New friendships blossomed, and old ones were renewed. For many, the retreat was a pivotal moment that reminded us why we joined the fraternity in the first place—to build lasting, supportive relationships that extend far beyond our college years.
The impact of this retreat will resonate for months to come. Not only did it allow us to grow closer as a chapter, but it also helped to build a foundation of trust and connection that will serve us through all the years ahead. This Brotherhood Retreat was not just an event, rather it was a catalyst for fostering unity and strengthening the heart of our fraternity.

Hit The Slopes: Ski Trip To Gunstock Mountain Resort
By Jonathan Sim, Boston University (Psi Delta, ‘26)
Each spring semester, one event consistently stands out as a highlight for the brothers of Psi Delta Chapter— our much-anticipated annual ski trip to Gunstock Mountain in New Hampshire. This year, over 40 brothers made the journey north for a full day of fresh powder, great company, and unforgettable memories.
Nestled in the heart of the White Mountains, Gunstock offered the ideal escape and a much-needed break from the pressures of academic routines. From seasoned skiers and snowboarders carving down black diamonds to first-timers tackling the bunny slopes, there was something for everyone. The day kicked off bright and early with a caravan of carpools weaving through snowy backroads, filled with excitement, music, the anticipation of hitting the slopes, and plenty of road trip snacks.
The weather couldn’t have been better: blue skies, crisp mountain air, and freshly-groomed trails. Brothers partnered up and hit the slopes for adrenaline-pumping runs and relaxed cruises through the glades. Lunch brought everyone back together at the base lodge, where we swapped stories of falling, warmed up, and recharged for the afternoon.
What makes this trip truly special, however, goes far beyond skiing. It’s the camaraderie – the laughter on the lifts, the group photos, the shared high-fives after a clean run – that makes it such a treasured part of our chapter’s culture. It’s a chance to bond with brothers across all class years and majors, building connections that last far beyond the mountains.
Our annual ski trip has become one of the most cherished traditions of the spring semester. It’s a perfect blend of fun, relaxation, and brotherhood. Best of all, every brother made it back home safe and injury-free (though a few sore legs were definitely earned).
As engineers, we’re constantly balancing a heavy workload and ambitious goals. Trips like this remind us of the importance of balance, friendship, and enjoying the ride – on the slopes and in life. Here’s to another successful ski trip and many more adventures ahead for Psi Delta!
