Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity Alternative Spring Break
Theta Tau is excited to announce that this spring, 2022, we will be resuming our partnership with Habitat for Humanity’s Collegiate Challenge spring break program, bringing brothers from across the country together in Florida and California to spend their spring breaks helping to build homes for those less fortunate!
Those that have been to our past Habitat spring break trips will tell you that this is the most fun spring break you can have. There are only 25 spots available each week, so register as soon as you can! Importantly: the Fraternity is divided up between the three weeks. See below to identify the week that has been assigned to your chapter. If we have open spaces available in January, members will be able to register for a week outside of that assigned to their chapter.
Registration is open now. Through January 1st, you can register for a $70 registration fee up front, and then a second payment of $100 due by Feb 1, 2022. If spots are still available in January, late registration will be available for a $200 total payment.
Habitat uses this money to buy building supplies, and in exchange you get a place to stay from Sunday to Friday (usually in a church fellowship hall), lunch on the work site each day, dinner on Sunday night, insurance during the build, a Habitat t-shirt, and a custom Theta Tau/Habitat t-shirt.
Our groups work Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM to ~3:30 PM. Nights and weekends are yours to enjoy with your brothers. Please plan to be on site by 6 PM Sunday for orientation/dinner.
ALUMNI are welcome and encouraged to attend any week they are available! So we hope to see many of you there! Many employers will even give PTO for community service, so be sure to ask!
All participants will be required to provide proof of COVID vaccination to participate.
Week 1 // Flagler Beach, FL – March 7, 2021
Week 2 // Flagler Beach, FL – March 14, 2021
Week 3 // Flagler Beach, FL – March 21, 2021
Week 3 // Ventura County, CA – March 21, 2021
The cost to participate is $170. A $70 deposit is due at registration with the $100 balance due by February 1. You will be sent a reminder in January for the balance. This fee covers a place to stay from Sunday to Friday (usually in a church fellowship hall), lunch on the work site each day, dinner on Sunday night, insurance during the build, a Habitat t-shirt, and a custom Theta Tau/Habitat t-shirt.
