This fall, 25 brothers and guests set sail for an unforgettable three-day adventure on the high seas, marking the return of a cherished annual tradition. Alumni from across the country—from California to New York—came together for a weekend of camaraderie, reconnection, and celebration. After a pause in such gatherings due to COVID, this cruise carried an extra layer of meaning, reminding everyone of the power of community and the joy of being together again.

A Weekend of Adventures

The cruise offered something for everyone, with opportunities both on and off the ship to create lasting memories. When the ship docked in the Bahamas, the group embraced the chance to explore. With sunny beaches and turquoise waters as a backdrop, brothers split into smaller groups to snorkel among vibrant marine life, shop for unique local treasures, and simply relax while soaking up the warm Caribbean sun. Some brothers even took the opportunity to stop for local conch, savoring the flavors of the Bahamas together. In one particularly memorable moment, Mu and Zeta Gamma alumni delighted fellow brothers with a spirited singing competition of “Dixie Land Delight” in a tricked-out taxi, creating a shared experience filled with laughter and camaraderie.

For those who chose to stay aboard, the ship’s amenities provided no shortage of entertainment and relaxation. Brothers bonded over lively dinners, shared laughs during trivia competitions, and showed off their vocal talents in karaoke events . The fun didn’t stop there—one brother even had a “wedding” during a comedy show, adding a playful and memorable twist to the weekend’s festivities.

Making New Memories

What truly set this cruise apart was the diversity of attendees. The group included recent graduates as well as brothers who graduated more than 25 years ago, creating a unique opportunity for cross-generational connections. Conversations flowed easily as stories were exchanged and bonds were strengthened. Additionally, chapter brothers were delighted when they realized they were cruising together, adding a special layer of joy to the weekend.

Before disembarking, the group gathered for a “family photo” to commemorate the weekend. The photo captured more than smiling faces; it symbolized the shared pride, joy, and sense of belonging that defines the Theta Tau family.

The cruise fun extended beyond the offical trip , with some brothers spending time in Miami, exploring the city’s vibrant culture and nightlife. A small group even completed an escape room in record time.
